What affects the cost of company t-shirt printing in Malta?

Two quotes for “50 t-shirts with our logo” can be very different, and it is rarely because one supplier is cheap and the other is expensive. The price of a printed t-shirt comes down to a handful of choices. Once you know what they are, you can decide where to spend and where to save.
1. The t-shirt itself
A basic 150g cotton tee costs less than a heavier 190g shirt, an organic cotton tee or a performance fabric for sport. Heavier shirts feel more premium, hold their shape and take a bold print better, so they are worth it for staff who will wear them every week. For a one-day event giveaway, a lighter tee is usually fine.
2. How many you order
Most of the cost of printing is in the setup, so the price per shirt drops as the quantity goes up. Ordering 50 in one go is cheaper per piece than ordering 25 now and 25 next month. If you know you will need more later, it is worth ordering them together. We print from 10 pieces, and you can mix sizes freely within the same order.
3. The printing method
- Screen printing is the most economical for larger runs of a logo with a few solid colours.
- Digital transfers suit detailed or full-colour artwork and smaller quantities.
- Embroidery costs more per piece but looks premium and lasts for years, which is why it is popular on polos and uniforms.
We recommend the right method for your logo and quantity when we quote.
4. Number of colours and print positions
Each extra colour in a screen print and each extra position (front, back, sleeve) adds to the price. A one-colour logo on the chest is the most affordable option. A chest logo plus a big back print is a popular middle ground for event tees.
5. Sizes and colours
Larger sizes such as 3XL to 5XL can cost a little more, and some colours of the same shirt are priced slightly higher than white or black. Mixing sizes is free.
6. Your deadline
Standard production takes 7 to 12 days from mockup approval. Express production is possible from 3 days on many items, but rushing can limit the choice of shirts and methods. Asking early gives you the widest choice at the best price.
How to get more for your budget
- Keep the logo to one or two colours where you can.
- Order everything together rather than in small batches.
- Choose the shirt weight to match how often it will be worn.
- Tell us your budget per shirt: we can suggest the best combination of shirt and print within it.
